Zills 101
Zills (also known as finger cymbals or sagat) are an important part of a bellydancers repertoire, and an essential skill while performing. In this class, Dawn will guide us through the basic rhythms, how to recognize them, and how to play them. This class is ideal for beginners, but also perfect for experienced dancers who want to drill the fundamentals.
*30 minutes.
Golden Era
In this class, Dawn will introduce us to the graceful and feminine style of Golden Era Bellydance. The Golden Era reigned from the 1940's to the 1960's, when Egyptian cinema was in its prime. This was the original Raks Sharki and dancers like Samia Gamal, Tahia Carioca, and Soheir Zaki exemplified this style. We will learn technique, body awareness and stage presence.
*2 hours.
